Understanding Habits

Image
Let's visualize a life with perfect and accurate habits. We woke up on time, ate well balanced meal, exercised, meditated, punctual, remained carefree, produced high quality work, sustained great relationships, etc. How wonderful would such a life be where everything happened effortlessly with perfection and accuracy? The word ‘consistent’, ‘always’, ‘regular’ are default adjectives of habits as habit is something that is consistently practiced. Indeed habits that develop into personality traits define us, and that is why habits are powerful as they can make us or break us. If our personality wavers between being carefree and anxious, then we have not given the time to fully understand and develop the powerful trait of being carefree. A partially developed habit does not have as much impact as the one that is fully developed. The Raja yoga meditation and spiritual knowledge I learnt at Brahma Kumaris have completely transformed many negative habits, some are partially transform

Healing Relationships at Work

A majority of us spend 50% or more of our active time at work. We have to come in contact with a variety of people and work with them. Work will feel like a drag, impossible, and uninteresting if our frequency is not matching with the folks we interact with. Unhealthy work relationships generate feelings of exhaustion, hopelessness, and/or frustration. We end up carrying those negative feelings to our home. The feeling of frustration was created due to folks at work, but unknowingly all of those emotions are taken out on the innocent family. It is imperative to take care of relationships where lot of time and energy is spent. Else, it leads to a lot of hurt, stress, and frustration. It eventually causes us to offload the pain we felt at work on the innocent family. Relationship with the Manager How to deal with a micromanager? It’s a no brainer that a person micromanages because they cannot trust people easily. Few options to deal with this kind of situation: 1. Create Frust

Overcome the Fear Related to Self

Imagine a carefree world where every second that unfolded was guaranteed to be beautiful and magical. The word ‘uncertainty’ or ‘crisis’ did not even exist in the  dictionaries of that place. Nobody in that world had thoughts about future because everything was expected to be good. People always remained happy, carefree, and stayed in the present moment. Can one remain carefree in the current world that is constantly fluctuating and uncertain? People in the imaginary world were happy because there was light of positivity everywhere. Folks in this world are scared because they are surrounded by the darkness of negativity. Spiritual knowledge emits the light that is needed to remain carefree in this dubious world. I thought I was mostly carefree, but at Brahma Kumaris I came to know that many times the carefreeness was actually carelessness. I also realized through knowledge and meditation that there were many inhibitions within that were preventing me from stretching myself. The light

Understanding Fear of Unknown

Image
We are living in a world where anything is possible. A very close relative can kill their relative for wealth, an earthquake can eradicate an entire city, or a deadly disease can kill thousands of people. Day in and out we hear these kind of horrific real stories, and it makes us very anxious about our future. Future is indeed unknown and unpredictable. We feel something bad will happen either in the next moment, tomorrow, or in the future. Fear makes the unknown and unpredictable future a little known by predicting something bad will happen. It is important to check how many of our predictions actually come true, and do they help in preventing the mishaps from happening ? I thought I was overall a fearless person, very bold and courageous. I was shocked to find out through meditation that I possessed countless fears within. I also understood that timidness was taking away a lot of my energy and confidence. My aim is to fearlessly and enthusiastically breeze through every storm of

Dynamics of Relationships - Why are Some Sweet and Others Sour?

Imagine a bank where you never deposited anything, yet there was a constant inflow of money into your account. The more money you withdrew from the bank, the more money got deposited. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have an account in such a bank? Unfortunately, such a bank does not exist in real world. A real bank account is empty or has little money if we have only withdrawn money and never deposited anything. We have to pay huge fines to the bank if the monthly payments are not done in time for the loan taken. Bankruptcy will have to be filed if we fail to deposit money for an elongated period of time. In today’s world many people feel emotionally bankrupt inspite of investing heavily in some relationships. A physical bank can chase us for a debt only till we (soul) are in the body, but debt between souls will chase us even after soul has left the body (death). I received a third eye at Brahma Kumaris that enabled me to understand the credit and debts I, the soul, had created over m
